Supervision & Consultation

Clinical supervision and workplace consultation in Edmonton.

I offer clinical supervision for social workers, provisional registrants, and other regulated practitioners doing clinical work, along with consultation for the teams and organizations that carry them. Both are grounded in a trauma-informed lens and oriented toward the recovery of capacity, not just the management of risk.

Clinical Supervision

Supervision that develops you, not just oversees you.

For registrants seeking ongoing clinical consultation, and for practitioners accumulating hours toward the ACSW Clinical Registry and the RCSW designation.

Sessions attend to your case work, your ethics, and your sustainability. Documentation and sign-off are part of it, but they are the smallest part. What we spend the time on is how you are thinking, what you are carrying, and whether your practice can hold at the pace you are running it.

Individual supervision

One to one, structured to your learning plan and revised as your caseload changes.

Registry pathway

Approved to serve as Clinical Supervisor of Record for ACSW clinical registry candidates, including the fifty one-to-one hours that must come directly from an approved supervisor.

Trauma-focused practice

Consultation on EMDR, AEDP, Somatic Experiencing, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy case material, including pacing, stabilization, and knowing when not to proceed.

Access

In person in Edmonton, and virtually across Alberta.

Workplace Consultation

Teams can do hard work for years and still come apart quietly.

A specialty in workplace recovery after critical incidents, and in the design and support of peer support programs.

Organizations tend to notice psychological injury late, once it has already cost them people. Consultation works upstream of that: what happens in the hours and weeks after an incident, who is responsible for what, how peer supporters are trained and protected, and how a return to work is built so that it holds.

Where this comes from

Direct clinical involvement with the Edmonton Police Service Reintegration Program — the peer-led return-to-work model developed in Edmonton in 2009 and since adopted by police, fire, and public safety agencies across Canada and internationally — and with the City of Edmonton’s Peer Support Program.

Critical incident response

Planning and post-incident support for teams exposed to serious events.

Peer support programs

Development, consultation, and clinical backstop for peer-delivered programs.

Return to work

Clinical input on graduated, occupation-specific reintegration after psychological injury.

Team consultation

For leaders trying to understand what is happening to their people, and what would actually help.

Fit

If this isn’t the right fit, I’ll help you find what is.

Supervision is a relationship before it is a requirement, and the match matters. If we aren’t right for each other, I’ll say so directly and point you toward someone who is.

Common questions

Does supervision with you count toward the ACSW Clinical Registry?

Yes. Candidates for the clinical registry complete 1,600 hours of direct clinical practice and a minimum of 100 hours of clinical supervision, and at least 50 of those hours must be provided directly by an approved Clinical Supervisor on Record.

Do you supervise practitioners who are not social workers?

Yes. Clinical supervision is offered to regulated practitioners in allied disciplines where the case material falls within my scope. Requirements set by your own college remain yours to verify.

Is supervision available virtually?

Yes, across Alberta. In-person supervision is available in Edmonton at LeMarchand Mansion in Wîhkwêntôwin.

What does workplace consultation cost?

Consultation is scoped to the engagement. Request a consult and I’ll give you a straight answer on scope, cost, and whether I’m the right person for it.
